Whether it’s your first visit or your 50th, New York City is a great destination for an adventure. For more than a century, NYC has been one of the world’s leading business, financial and cultural. As the home of the United Nations, the city is a hub for international diplomacy. NYC is comprised of five boroughs: The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. With over 8.2 million residents within an area of 322 square miles, NYC is the second most densely populated major city in North America, behind nearby Union City, New Jersey.
The city has many neighborhoods and landmarks known around the world. The Statue of Liberty greeted millions of immigrants as they came to America in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, at Ellis Island. Wall Street, in Lower Manhattan, has been a dominant global financial center since World War II and is home to the New York Stock Exchange. The city has been home to several of the tallest buildings in the world, including the Empire State Building and the former twin towers of the World Trade Center, which collapsed in the September 11, 2001 attacks.
New York is often called the “Big Apple,” as well as “The City that Never Sleeps,” not least because its subway system operates around the clock and because many neighborhoods in Manhattan, such as Times Square, are busy at all hours.
Discover all the history, culture and diversity that sets NYC apart from the rest. Feel the energy that infuses the streets.
Arriving at one of several international airports we board our private coach for our drive into Manhattan. New York isn’t just a modern metropolis: it’s also a place steeped in history. With historic landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building, who wouldn’t want to take a bite of the Big Apple?
Ride to the top of the Empire State Building and look down off of the Observation Deck over the New York skyline, do the same from Lady Liberty’s torch, and stroll through Times Square and see the entertainment center of America where neon and LED screens outshine the stars.
Central Park is also a must-see as it plays an iconic part of New York’s landscape and is overlooked by exclusive residences and hotels. Central Park is host to a variety of sculptures, fountains, lakes, and a zoo.
Pro Tip: “Imagine all the people, living day to day” in one of the world’s most famous parks!
This centuries-old city along America’s Eastern Seaboard boasts beautiful heritage buildings and neighborhoods, and a thriving modern cultural scene. Strolling along the Freedom Trail is an excellent way to explore the city’s historic neighborhoods. As we walk along this pedestrian path, see the cobbled streets of Beacon Hill, the gold-domed State House, the site of the infamous Boston Tea Party, Paul Revere’s North Church, and many other of the city’s famous landmarks.
Arrive by our private coach tour bus to downtown Boston. Affectionately dubbed “Beantown,” Boston is one of the most historic cities in the United States. Known as the “Cradle of Modern America,” the birthplace of the American Revolution can still be felt as we walk the cobblestone paths of the Freedom Trail. The location of the Boston Tea Party, the USS Constitution, the Old State House, and the Paul Revere House are just some of the places we’ll visit on this two- to three-hour guided tour.
We will also take a hop, skip and a jump into 20th century history with a visit to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum — the presidential library and museum of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States.
Pro Tip: Have yourself some New England “chowdah” — it’s wicked good!
